April 2007, Koshin-ha National Spring Event:

July 21, 2007, Shochugeiko (Summer Training) (4 - Seminars): Training will begin at 10:00am and end at 2:45pm. Cost will be $45.00 for those registering by the deadline of July 7th. Instruction will be conducted by Jim Davenport, Kyoshi. Special Guest Instructor will be Mike Sadler, Hanshi Shingo-ha Yoshukai. One of the primary topics to be covered will consist of the connection between Chito-ryu's Founder Dr. Chitose and Yoshukai's Founder Yamamoto, Hanshi. We will also be covering the technical connections between the two systems. Many changes took place over the years in the style of Chito-ryu especially after the death of the Founder. Yamamoto Sensei, known largely for his superb fighting skills had virtually no interest in changing the techniques of the kata he had learned from his teacher, Dr. Chitose. Therefore, many of the techniques found in the Yoshukai kata are older techniques once taught in Chito-ryu, but no longer found within the kata of present day Chito-ryu. Many of these difference will be covered during this seminar. These seminars will no doubt be extremely informative for anyone interested in the historical side of Chito-ryu and Yoshukai as reflected in the technical aspects of the two systems. For additional information call 502-320-9694.

July 20, 2007 (Friday Evening) Special Instructors Meeting with Sadler, Hanshi & Davenport, Kyoshi. This Instructors meeting is by invitation only. Topics to be discussed will include Historical & Technical connections relating to the systems of Chito-ryu & Yoshukai.
